Despite the measures taken by the authorities of Abkhazia, there are still risks of a new surge in underground mining in the republic. The load on the network remains high, which causes concern among power engineers, Sputnik reports. The general director of the Chernomorenergo company Mikhail Logua said that at any moment the load could increase even more. This can lead to a disruption in the power supply of entire regions of the republic. Recall that at the end of last year, the Abkhaz authorities went to rolling power outages in order to thus reduce the scale of clandestine crypto mining. The effect was, but very short, officials later admitted. Now power engineers state that the threat remains, and at any moment it can grow again. The head of Chernomorenergo said about the need to fight miners during a meeting with the Minister of Economy Kristina Ozgan and the head of the State Committee for Communications, Mass Communications and Digital Development Beslan Khalvash. The restrictions introduced by the State Committee made it possible to prevent the disruption of power supply to settlements and enterprises during the New Year holidays, Logua noted and urged law enforcement officers to continue the fight against residents of the republic who operate mining farms.
