Bentley will release a limited edition NFT collection | ForkLog

Premium car manufacturer Bentley has announced a limited edition Genesis Bentley NFT drop coming in September 2022.

The NFT collection will be created by Bentley Design.

A total of 208 tokens will be issued. The number is not chosen by chance – it is both the speed limit in the Continental GT Speed model and the number of produced iconic 1952 R-Type Continental.

The drop of tokens will take place in the Polygon network. The decision is in line with the company’s commitment to achieving full carbon neutrality by 2030. Genesis Bentley NFT owners will receive exclusive rewards.

“Bentley customers also live online, buying luxury goods with digital currency and building a business in the Metaverse. […] NFTs have raised the prestige of both art and artists. The same can happen in the field of premium cars.” – said a member of the board of directors of the company Alain Favey.

Going forward, Bentley will explore other use cases, including NFC, online gaming, metaverse applications, and enterprise-wide adoption of blockchain technology.

Recall that the Italian fashion house Prada has released a collection of non-fungible Timecapsule NFT tokens as part of a collaboration with Cassius Hirst.

Earlier, the premium brand Balenciaga announced the possibility of paying with cryptocurrencies in flagship stores in the United States and on the online platform.
