One of the world’s largest airlines, Emirates Airlines, has announced the acceptance of payments in bitcoin and the release of an NFT collection. This is reported by local media.
At a press conference, the carrier’s chief operating officer, Adel Ahmed Al Reda, noted Emirates Airlines’ interest in using blockchain for aircraft accounting and metaverse technology.
“Metaverses will bring traditional learning operations, ticket sales, to the digital world, making them more interactive,” he said.
To develop new projects, the air carrier will hire specialized employees.
Recall that in October 2021, the El Salvador airline Volaris added payment in bitcoin.
