Back in December last year, the first advertisement for the sale of a vaccine against coronavirus appeared on the so-called darknet or the shadow part of the Internet. The author of the ad wrote that he was ready to accept 0.01 bitcoin for one dose of the vaccine as payment, according to a study by Check Point. By mid-January, 340 advertisements for the sale of the vaccine were found on the World Wide Web, and sellers are ready to accept BTC as a payment instrument. All these announcements were again discovered by the Check Point team, CNBC reports. The cost of the vaccine varies from $ 250 to $ 1000 in cryptocurrency. Researchers warn people that many of these ads are fakes. Employees of the company contacted the seller of one of the vaccines and transferred him $ 750 in Bitcoin. After receiving the money, the fraudster promptly deleted his Telegram account. Fake ads are posted on 34 sites. In December, scammers posted offers to sell the vaccine on eight sites.
