The volume of the Russian National Welfare Fund (NWF) for 2020 increased in rubles by 5.773 trillion, to 13.546 trillion rubles, and in dollars – by 57.8 billion, to $ 183.358 billion, the Ministry of Finance said. The volume of the NWF for December 2020 increased by 88.65 billion in rubles, and by 5.965 billion in dollars. As of December 1, its volume amounted to 13.457 trillion rubles, or 11.8% of GDP projected for 2020, and in dollar terms – 177.393 billion dollars. At the same time, as of January 1, 2020, the volume of the fund was 7.773 trillion rubles, or $ 125.6 billion. Experts expect a 37% reduction in tax payments to the budget in January. “As of January 1, 2021, the volume of the NWF amounted to 13,545,663.0 million rubles, or 11.7% of GDP projected for 2021, “- said in a statement. This is equivalent to $ 183.358 billion. At the same time, the volume of the fund’s liquid assets as of January 1 amounted to the equivalent of 8.658 trillion rubles, or 117.195 billion dollars, which is 7.5% of the forecasted volume of GDP for the current year. , 44.166 billion euros, 8.551 billion pounds and 11.628 billion rubles. 534.268 billion rubles were placed on deposits with VEB. In addition, $ 3 billion was placed in Ukrainian bonds, on which the country defaulted. 279.346 billion rubles and 4.113 billion dollars were placed in securities of Russian issuers related to the implementation of self-sustaining infrastructure projects, 278.992 billion rubles in preferred shares of credit institutions. RUR 138.434 billion were placed on subordinated deposits with VTB and Gazprombank in order to finance self-sustaining infrastructure projects. Another 3.072 trillion rubles were invested in ordinary shares of Sberbank, and 59.5 billion rubles – in ordinary shares of Aeroflot. The exchange rate difference from the revaluation of the NWF funds for the period from January 1 to December 31, 2020 amounted to 1.774 trillion rubles. The total income from the placement of the fund’s funds in authorized financial assets, excluding funds in accounts with the Bank of Russia, in 2020 amounted to 264 billion rubles, which is equivalent to 3.4 billion dollars.
