According to the results of January, the republics of Chechnya, Ingushetia and Tyva became subjects of the Russian Federation with the highest average cost of servicing a mortgage, according to statistics from the Bank of Russia. So, on average, in the Russian Federation at the beginning of the year, clients of Russian banks took out mortgages at 7.23% per annum, which is slightly less than in December: then loans cost an average of 0.13 percentage points more. At the same time, in the two constituent entities of the Russian Federation, which led this “anti-rating”, the average rate exceeded 8% per annum: residents of Chechnya could get a loan at an average of 8.06%, and Ingushetia – at 8.03%. Tyva did not lag behind too much: there the loan cost an average of 7.99%. Russian banks increased mortgage lending last year by 21.2%, as a result of which the total debt of citizens on loans for the purchase of housing for the first time exceeded 9 trillion rubles. This year, the Bank of Russia expects mortgage lending growth to slow down to 16-20%, and in 2022-2023 it expects mortgage lending to grow by 14-18% annually.
